So, I’m sitting here Saturday afternoon watching C-Span. My life has hit rock bottom, I suppose!
Anyhow, King of Deceit Dick Cheney was evangelizing at some campaign stop in Ohio when he went “down the line” shaking hands and taking picture. C-Span does a good job of keeping the mic on the candidate as he’s walking and talking.
One of the things the microphone picked up was some chick saying to Cheney: “Mr. Vice-President, Psalms 63:11.”
Now, I know this administration is filled with religous nuts, but shit like this just goes to show who really runs this country: Christian fundamentalists bent on making those of us who don’t believe in their bullshit follow them anyway. We can’t get away from it in this country. Anyhow, I found the above Bible verse to be highly ironic.
Psalm 63
11 But the king will rejoice in God;
all who swear by God’s name will praise him,
while the mouths of liars will be silenced.
So, who is the liar this white-trash goddess was referring to? I’m guessing it’s Kerry. It’s just odd that this could equally apply to Cheney and Bush.

Another reason our Christian-extremist population is crazy. Check out this article from Yahoo!
These Christians crack me up. Sunday is the day of the Lord. Not a day to worship the devil. If Halloween is the day of the devil, why celebrate it at all? I guess those white trash kids down south need to go out and get all the candy they can so they can nurture those fat asses their parents expect them to grow and maintain.
There is just a certain comedic effect after reading this sentence:
“It’s a good day for the Lord, not for the devil.”
And this is what’s governing the majority of our country. If only stupidity could be outlawed.

Wow. This war certainly doesn’t seem to be playing out to our advantage these past few weeks. I’m hesitant to go along with the rumors of the draft being reinstated in early 2005. I think it would be political suicide for either party and would poorly effect the overall morale of our troops. When those not interested in fighting a war are included, it does no one any good.
But, there is a solution. One large portion of our society is willing to join our military. Willing to serve to supposedly “defend” our country in Iraq. Willing to follow the bullshit continually force-fed by Commander in Chief Dubya. And, most importantly, willing to put their lives on the line so that smartasses like me can keep posting such drivel.
Who are these brave individuals?
None other than our very own gay and lesbian population! Or, as our very own Rev. Phelps likes to put it, “the dykes and fags!”
Liberals have attacked the military’s policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” to no end over the past decade. Conservatives argue that if gays were allowed to openly serve, they would…wait, they HAVE no legitimate argument.
Here’s a great article that details a gay group, the Log Cabin Republicans (who’s heard of a gay republican?), and their attempt to allow gays into the military. Or, more accurately, to strike down the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” litany of hate that currently is on the books.
The military is for manly men who grunt when they eat and fart when they squat, conservatives say. The queers would be more worried about the design of their uniform rather than waging battle with another poor Iraqi kid. The queers would try to indoctrinate them there white trash boys into their homosexual perversion! The fags simply cannot be allowed to infiltrate the last STRAIGHT institution in this country.
And, like every other conservative argument, it’s bullshit.
Let’s admit it. First, in a time of war, our priority should not be denying those who wish to serve their country the right to do so simply because they live a life that’s different from you. Who they screw at night will have no bearing on their performance on our twisted battlefield.
Second, “don’t ask, don’t tell” must be struck down and the constitution must be amended to outlaw all descrimination based on sexual orientation. While our trusty president is attempting to have discrimination written INTO the constitution with his ban on gay marriages, it seems more American that we try to keep discrimination OUT of our sacred document. Don’t ask, don’t tell must be eliminated to ensure that our nation doesn’t miss out on the service of thousands of individuals who are being denied the right to live their lives honestly, openly and without fear of retribution. It should be commended, those that want to serve their country. Not denied and denigrated like the conservative agenda has so ably done.
This is not new to conservatives. Every so often they have to pounce on some group to hate. They didn’t want to afford women the right to vote. Then they didn’t want equal rights for blacks. Now they hate gays. Well, like every other minority they’ve degraded in history, conservatives are one the wrong side. And conservatives should very well know that women and blacks were eventually afforded the right to vote and have equal rights. This will come some day–hopefully soon–to gays, as well.

I think I’m on debate overkill.
Bush is doing much better tonight. Not too dumb. Not too uppity. Just right.
Kerry is like a broken clock. He needs to step away from the Democratic talking points.
I think I’ll go to sleep now.

An interesting report from an Israeli think tank released today outlined how the war in Iraq has ultimately diverted US resources from the ongoing War on Terror.
The article can be found here via Yahoo! News.
Wow. An Israeli organization coming out against the War in Iraq? I’d say this is progress.

Thanks to Dad for this one.
Check out this article from today’s New York Times (note: registration may be required). Sure, it could just be a conspiracy theory, but the thought of Karl Rove speaking into an earpiece of Bush’s is startlingly plausible.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Bush was being told what to say. It would even explain so much of the stammering from last week. Bush’s own dumb thoughts combined with Rove’s maniacal genius would cause any sane person to stumble.
Of course, this can’t be proven. Nice to hold out hope that it’s true, though.

Well, it’s just the beginning, but I’m already laughing.
We should get some great Bushisms out of this one.
So far, Bush has pluralized Internet, as in…
“I hear there’s a lot of information out on the Internets.”
Also, “There was weapons.”
Bush was dumb and reserved last week, too often tripping over his own words and collapsing under the the weight of his own stuttering and stammering.
Kerry’s arrogance shined through last week.
This week, just by viewing the first half-hour, it’s clear Bush has gone off the deep end. He’s overly chipper tonight and overly crazy. He’s cut off anchor Charles Gibson several times. His extremely “uppity” behavior shows that he’s clearly annoyed tonight. I am amazingly shocked at how Bush can not keep his cool tonight. This is definitely going to cost him some points.
Kerry needs to stop referring to “this administration” and “this president,” as in “this administration has failed.” He must get off of that train.

BREAKING NEWS:
The war began at 9:46 pm. Bush & Kerry have both whipped out the conservative and liberal titles.
Bush first denigrated liberals and Kerry followed up by mocking Bush’s “compassionate conservative” moniker.
Then Bush went real crazy, breaking a rule by following to Kerry without being permitted by Charles Gibson to do so. He’s really biting the bullet with this debate.

Female conservative commentators are hot.
Several conservatives really tickle my fancy. One is the loon Ann Coulter. Her hardcore conservatism rocks my world because she’s so damn out of control. And she’s hot. The ever wonderful Michelle Malkin, another glamorous conservative diva, bitched on her blog today that Prince’s new video for his tune “Cinnamon Girl” is awful because it presents an eye-opening look at hate crimes against Arab-Americans in America post-9/11.
Here’s the blog link. Go to October 8th’s entry titled “Cinnamon Girl: The Latest Martyrdom Video.”
I have a huge problem with conservatives when they critique art. They seem to only appreciate it in its most simplest of forms. It’s all black and white to them. When artists get political, they tell them to shut their collective yaps. Art is meant to be political and to make a statement. The reason there are so few self-labeled conservative artists is because conservatism places society in a box. Anything outside of that box is handily criticized as unacceptable. Conservative politics. Conservative minds.
Back to Malkin. She complained because the video featured a young Arab-looking woman who, at the finale, considers blowing up an airport. Besides being one of Prince’s best songs outside of the 80’s, the video features a stunning narrative and an excellent marriage of live-action acting and animation. The video was fiction, Ms. Malkin. Prince took on a point of view of a segment of our population that, whether you admit it or not, was heavily discriminated against in our post-9/11 world. And all you can say is the video and song are crappy? How contructive is that? Check out the video online and decide for yourself.
The Right’s got Hollywood on their side!
If I wanted to spout out dumb shit like Malkin, I could easily say that the right’s one celebrity, conservative voice in this election–actor Ron Silver–is almost laughable. When’s the last time this guy hasn’t had a movie go straight-to-video? Sure, they’ve got Arnold, but he’s simply too outspoken against some of Bush’s policies.
Prince is a musical genius
Prince’s latest album, “Musicology,” has to be the freshest slice of funk he’s released in more than a decade and “Cinnamon Girl” is his best piece of pop since “Little Red Corvette.” Prince was straddling the lines of relevancy two years ago, but this new album has proven that he’s still got it in the 21st century.
Malkin also says Prince is a washed-up hasbeen who needs to go back to being relevant. Good way to advance an argument, my hot, conservative diva!
Don’t worry Michelle, you may be wrong 90% of the time, but I’ll keep reading your blog.

This just released today. Check out this article from Yahoo! News.
This Carl Cameron has a history of kissing GW’s ass. There is a clip that circulated the internet several months ago of Cameron interviewing Bush in 2000. The clip shows what went on before the interview started. Cameron and Bush’s wives are both close friends, so the the two of them were all chummy before the interview started. If I find the clip, I’ll post a link.
Update: I did find the clip. Check out Media Matters for America’s database.

I love James Bond movies. I own them all on DVD and they’re often in constant rotation. I think Pierce Brosnan is the best Bond since Sean Connery. So, I’m obviously ticked off that this was reported today via the great online movie directory, imdb.com.
“Despite Pierce Brosnan’s recent denial that he had decided not to accept another movie assignment as James Bond and his insistence that, to the contrary, he would like to have another go at the character, chances appear slim that he’ll return, the Los Angeles Times indicated today (Monday). The newspaper observed that producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who control the Bond franchise, have let it be known that they want to replace the 51-year-old Brosnan with an 28-32 year-old actor. And Brosnan himself told the newspaper that the pair call the shots: “We’ve had a lot of success together. But as to the fate of the franchise, you have to remember that at the end of the day, it’s the Broccolis’ family business.”
I may be crazy, but Bond should be an experienced character. Not some young punk just out of MI:6 training (for those of you who don’t know MI:6, it’s Britain’s secret service). Bond should always be 40-plus years old. Brosnan was great in the last Bond film and it would be great to give him at least one more crack at it. If they’re going to get rid of him, at least get someone who looks like they belong on the job.
Ok, I’ll stop. Back to the politics.
