First Annual Blog Summit?!?!

As Kilroy mentioned in this post, we’re getting together tomorrow at 7 pm at the Bull’s Eye on Kirkwood Highway for drinks and tasty food. It’s bring your own cash, so no one’s paying for your shit! This was literally just confirmed by me and I’ve actually got a free night tomorrow. So, stop on by and come meet the legendary men — Kilroy and Mike Matthews.

Invitations are extended to those below the canal, as well. Especially Dave Burris, who I’m sure would like to hang out with Mike Matthews at any time.

I just might make it. Been a while since I’ve been to Bulls Eye; I remember the food ain’t bad for a sorta hold-in-the-wall bar.

  7. Kilroy says:

Look folks, we all are different and have different opinions and views but one thing we have in common is passion for our community! Positive change cannot happen unless there is debate and in deed it gets negative.

Be a great time for some legislators or candidates to stop in and please bring money, I took on the task of feeding Mike !

How about Big Al its not the Green Room but I try to see if the Bulls Eye will use the fresh cans of re-fried Beans for the Nachos!

How about Copeland, they have glasses for the wine not paper cups like the Hi Ho!

Hey Matthews you are old enough to drink?

  8. Kilroy says:

Yea I know with that over-bite of your I tend to pull out soon!

  9. Kilroy says:

Be careful of people with cameras.

  11. jen says:

Boys, boys, boys. You can make a spectacle of yourselves here and in print, but not out in public. They know me at the Bull’s Eye–those Thursday night 1/2 price burgers are A-O.K. I am not sure that it is safe to be seen out and about with boggers of your ilk.

Holy cow. You don’t get too many chances to use that word “ilk.”

Sorry Jen the dam Red Clay Troll baited me out. The comment was about my departure from the Red Clay CFRC. They are keep me down because I know about the missing 840,000.00 federal funds

    WHAT????

I’ll try to make it. I’ve got to hear about this one.

John, I heard, a couple of weeks before the election, Gary L. ask Bec to stepdown from the Board, and at that point Bec cut Gary loose.

If I make it tonight, we can talk more.

  14. Paul says:

Will attendees have to check their cell phone cameras and keyboards at the door?
    See ya.

O yea ! Gary saw the light but it was too late but the fact is, “Gary saw the light.”
Gary was pushing to require the district to report by object codes! However, before the Red Clay trolls come in here, it is what it is and the community spoke and made good on cleaning house. I hear, 2009 seat in your distirct is coming open!

I said the same as Gary and man to man but unfortunately he took it as a an insult but I explained it was for the sake of showing some sense of accountability! I was just asking for him to step down just as president not from the board. yea ,yea I know I am weak! Then I took it public. Dam, if I didn’t give a rat’s ass about his feelings I would have ask privately.

I stepped down from the CFRC because of the BS cat and mouse games with trying to get copies of the monthly object code reports. Also, never got an answer about the 20% Title 1 SES funds that went down the tubes with the meltdown.

Try to stop by tonight ! I’ll be a little early perhaps 6:30 to grab a table and shot of Wild Turkey! You know the place Bull’s Eye the old Divirgilo watering hole!

  16. Paul says:

    Kilroy,

Why wasn’t there a further push on the $250,000 given to Norman Oliver, totally unaccounted for?
[ Two other districts also made a similar contribution, for a yearly total $3/4 million dollars. ]
That’s pretty insulting when teachers daily deal with accountability, DSTP scores, lesson plans, plan books, testing, grades, parent interviews, High paid admininstrator’s and Observations?
    Where was the oversight?
    Accountability?
Where was the school boards on demanding an explanation, and perhaps reimbursement for failure to fulfill the contract?
What about the those hired under those contracts that bypassed a State Police background check, and our students were exposed to possible felons, criminals, otherwise used because of their questionable backgrounds, because of some theory that they could relate to those who are marginal?
    Where was the plan?
    How was effectiveness measured?

And then the district has the chutzpah to say they need money?

    Paul.

  17. Al Mascitti says:

Paul: I agree with you on this one.

  18. kilroy says:

    Paul says:
    Kilroy,
Why wasn’t there a further push on the $250,000 given to Norman Oliver, totally unaccounted for?

And where is Tom Wagner special investigation audit ! NOR shit what about FOF opps they did it again and F the law !

The district has no intention of given us full transparency! The CFRC is just a front giving the people the illusion they are being accountable! 2 board members sit on that committee and not once did the assert themselves to get more data that the community demands. Also, where in the F is DOE , they have reps on the CFRC and bailed on the community member and let them fend for themselves. Red Clay is still in DOE Financial Recovery oversight. They won’t side with the community for transparency because they law doesn’t require it!

So I have egg on my face because everyone warned me years ago about Red Clay! But dam I did put my heart into speaking at board meeting, the letters to the editors and that shit !

Put it bluntly, I ‘ve been rolled under the bus and kicked it the nuts.

I’ve gotten too close to many in Red Clay and my vision got clouded because I believed I could make a difference! But obviously I’ve failed and I am shit! The CFO helped me see that.

Who in the F do we got to ! The legislators don’t give a rats ass! The State Auditor seems not to give a rat’s ass ! Minner / Carney are assess ! Jack Markell worries me because of his Rodel bedfellows .

Bottom-line , the fucking rat race is over and the rats won!

Hope to see you guys tonight.

Al , I really am sorry for busting your chops last year! Don’t note , I don’t hide behind anonymous!

BTW NOR is still a state approved SES Vendor!

  19. jen says:

I heard that Norman Oliver was seen at some big deal function a couple of weeks ago at the River Front shaking hands with all of the Red Clay bigwigs and patting backs like they were old friends. Does Red Clay still do any business with NOR? How much did NOR make off of Red Clay and Christina in the past five years? Who is still doing business with NOR?

  20. Kilroy Was Here says:

NOR is still a DOE approved SES provider.

  21. Kilroy Was Here says:

NOR is still an approved DOE SES provider.
They made big bucks before Red Clay was busted.
Red Clay did the same dam thing with FOF and not a soul was held accountable.

Looks like the State Auditor is in Red Clay’s pocket! Did Wagner sweep that special investigation under the carpet?

  22. Nancy Willing says:

I asked Tom Wagner to provide me with the list of people that Joe Wise had lunches with when the auditor reported that Wise was ripping off the district with credit card abuse. All the WNJ reported on was that Wise met with at least one city councilperson and other big wigs.

Wagner at first said that he would provide me with the list and not to bother with FOIA. Then, 6 months after not hearing anything, I asked again and still didn’t get the list.

He is short staffed I guess and I never wrote up a FOIA and when I saw Tom in leg hall last month I asked him about it again. He said down-played it again. But I have to say that I really want to see who Wise was wining and dining and I think that I have a right to know since there was an investigation resulting in charges that Wise stold money in going over his limit a lot and in fancy places.

We need an Inspection General to protect and serve the public not the incumbents.

  23. jen says:

Raise your hand if you knew that Joey Wise had been a finalist–in the top five–for superintendent of Philadelphia Public schools last fall. A friend saw it in the Inquirer one Sunday and sent me the link. AMAZING! How could a district not more than 50 miloes from Newark, Delaware actually consider this guy? Does no one check Google anymore? This was an easy one. Joey had been dumped by Duval County, Florida–another district that would not listen to reason. Christina teachers tried to get them to pay attention, but they blew the teachers off. Now, Joey is set up as a top guy in the Edison Charter Schools empire–he is just right for charter schools. Keep a wide eye: Edison Bankrupt–film at 11:00.
