GAMING THE SYSTEM: THE FIX WAS IN WEEKS AGO

Two anonymous, very reliable sources have informed me that the fix was in weeks ago on the eminent domain bill. The truth is the House and Senate knew the bill would be vetoed and decided to pass it pretty much unanimously anyway. If they all passed the bill they could be seen as heroes to the thousands of Delawareans who wanted to see it go through.

Then Aunt Roofie Ann Minner would veto it and everyone (mostly the pro-union Dems.) would be happy because it would mean the money-interests in the development lobby would be satisfied. What I’m told is that there’s not chance in hell for an override to be passed because it would have to be entered on the record at least 24 hours PRIOR to being voted on. The last day of the session is tomorrow. My guess is a suspension of rules would have to take place and I’m not sure enough legislators actually give a damn about this to do that.

So, the fix was in weeks ago. Minner vetoed the bill when she did because had she done so earlier in the week it could have been brought up for a vote in good time.

Sorry to say that Ed Osborne and the rest of the citizens of Delaware were gamed on this one. Chalk this one up to the pro-development thugs who’ve been eating at this state for the past decade.

Rumor has it that the politically powerful IBEW got $2 million in work from Buccini on the riverfront this year.

    Do the math.

  2. Nancy Willing says:

So, the GA can call themselves back to do the over-ride. No?
They gave themselves a pay raise a few years ago (2005) by pretending to forget that they had to resolve the house and senate versions of the raise ordinance and the raise went in without the vote. By default.
We have to hold this shithouse stink to their nostrals.

  3. No Name for Privacy says:

The opponents of the electeds in Leghall should strongly consider using ‘property rights’ as a plank in their campaign platform…let the voters know what the bought and paid for do for them.

The IBEW got A contract? Good for them…what other unions got work? Pettinaro’s built over half the stuff down there w/o union labor…that’s been the norm. It would surprise the hell outta me if the BPG used only union workers on their projects.

  4. Minner Betrayed People says:

    Call Minners office again. 577-3210

    Simply stated.

    1) Minner violated the will of the people. Ignored all the phone calls and the legislatures votes.
    2) Hold John Carney as a victim of her move.
    3) State that John Carney just lost your vote. Let her know that her move does have consequences.
    4) Tell Minner she will be Booed at public appearances for the rest of her life.

    Be firm, short and polite.

  5. Rule of Hand says:

    Carney is not Minner.

  6. Paul Falkowski says:

    Minner is not vulnerable.
    Carney is.

Carney does not support the limits in 245 on Eminent Domain.

  7. Andy says:

Anyone going to Leg Hall to fight this better be getting there soon and stay for the long hall grabbing every one of these folks and letting them know how you feel Getting there at 6PM and leaving at 8PM aint going to get it remember the Fusion voting fight last year

  8. liz allen says:

How many who voted with Minner/Carney/Baker are up for re-election this year? The fix was in weeks ago, they played the people for fools. Hoping we will forget when their election’s come up.
