Eminent Domain veto won’t be overriden

That’s what I’m hearing from one legislator. I’m told the override won’t even be considered tonight. Let’s hope some protest does the trick!

Update: The Senate has voted to suspend the rules. City of Wilmington Chief of Staff Bill Montgomery is making the case for the city on why takining peoples’ property is a good thing. Maybe there is a glimmer of hope.

Update II: In the end it was two Republicans who went against the will of the people. We knew a few Democrats would come out in support of Minner’s veto, but who would have thought Sens. Dori Connor and Cathy Cloutier would vote no on th bill to override the governor’s veto?

    Bubba,

How many flapjacks does it take to shingle a roof?

  3. anon2 says:

Conner and Cloutier have successfully done this same stunt to the open government petition last year as well as HB 36 the previous year. They also killed stem cell. These two are dip shits!

  4. R Smitty says:

From what I have seen on other sites, these are your developer-nine:

Amick (this is the biggest shock to me), Blevins, Cloutier, Conner, Cook, DeLuca, Henry (her own district), Marshall, and McDowell (of the 1st and 14th senate districts).

    Blame ‘em all.

  5. liz allen says:

This goes higher, much higher than these lame senators.

  6. Mike Matthews says:

Henry told me she voted no on the override because she didn’t want to go against her governor. How cute.

  7. Mat Marshall says:

    Bubba:

If you’re going to be whisked away by the rapture, I can only pray that I get to go to hell.

  8. Mat Marshall says:

    Bubba:

If you’re going to be whisked away to heaven come the rapture, I can only pray that I end up in hell.

Also, it’s “Mat”. If you’re going to attack me with archaic dogma, target your attack correctly.

Ms. Henry is the Representative who I watched last week check on every vote–she checked with other Reps. to find out how she should vote. It was pretty incredible to watch.

    I like Sausage.
But, I find that I do not like watching it made. Especially when it does not come out smelling fresh.
How do 18 of 21 Senators vote for the BILL two weeks ago, and then 11 vote it down today.

  11. Paul Falkowski says:

Sorry, 9 voted it down. 11 were left supporting the bill, and 13 votes were needed.

  12. Sam Carpini says:

Magot Rose has never had a spine. She has her full family on the state payroll. Cloutier is a flake. Cook, McDowell & Deluca are as sleezy as they come. Blevins is slick an two faced. Marshall is a whore and double dipper. Can we have the raw vote posted please? Let our people know.

Now we have to figure out who’s up for reelection and punish them.

  13. anon2 says:

MRH and DeLuca are up. Cloutier is not and I don’t think Conner is up either. MRH filled out a questionaire for a Dem group for campaign funds saying she would ‘pro-actively’ support bringing SB4 (open government) to the floor. Last night when Sen KP asked her to sign on she said ‘oh, no. I can’t do that but I do support it’ DUH. Liar.

  14. No Name for Privacy says:

Try to remember that when MRH chaired the Puplic Safety committee a state cop stopped a deputy federal prosecuter and had her lying on the road bed…even though she had her I.D.

MRH did little, if nothing, about the flaggrant violation of police power.

The real pisser is MRH is black (well, sort of) and so was the victim…she was reelected w/o opposition.

Bought and paid for stinkin’ witch.
